Kai is best known in the dance world as one-half of NYC DJ / production team Chris & Kai. As a team, Chris & Kai have produced and remixed tracks for labels including Yoshitoshi, Yo! and Hooj Choons; and gained massive support from Radio One’s Pete Tong and Sasha & John Digweed. On his own, Kai has also made waves with some of the biggest names in dance music. Kai’s own remix of UDG – “Generation” was called “Wicked” by Sharam of Deep Dish, while Steve Porter said of the track “This One’s going to grab the dancefloor by the balls.” Next on the horizon is “Find Myself,” a track signed to Nebula Music in UK. Nebula has long been established a premier trance label with various Tiesto releases, but is now moving into a house direction with upcoming releases from Robbie Rivera and Dave McCullen. “Find Myself” was also licensed to MTV/Campari Red Passion CD which was given away at the Red Passion tour this summer in Ibiza, Barcelona, and Athens to name a few locations. Kai’s music will also soon be featured in a brand new MTV2 reality fighting show called “Final Fu.” (www.finalfu.com)
Live, Kai has really been picking up momentum. For the second year in a row Kai was featured on the Pure Future Float at the San Francisco Love parade. Kai spend last summer on a Yoshitoshi sponsored tour of Asia that saw him spin in the finest clubs in China, Korea and Japan. As one of the few Asian house producer/DJs making noise Kai is fast becoming a go-to guy and gatekeeper to the Asian scene for UK, American, and European DJs. Back In his hometown of New York City Kai has become of mentor for young Asian producers and DJs looking to cracks the scene. A strong bond has been formed between Kai and his fans – many of whom religiously catch him spin in and around New York City.
